Maybe
Maybe we are right?
Maybe there’s a heaven on the other side.
Maybe it’s a big black hole.
No reason or purpose
No right right way to go.Maybe we all carry
A little bit of God?
In our smiles, in our worry
In the stories that we hold.
Maybe all religion
Has a piece of sacred truth?
And one person’s decision
Is as good as all of yoursMaybe God made the skies
Maybe God poured the seas
Maybe open your eyes and you just might see.
Maybe what doesn’t matter
Is what everybody sees,
And it’s not who you flatter
But what you believe.
Maybe we are all wrong?
Maybe God is laughing.
We try so hard to get along
To show the world that we are strong
To prove something more
To aim and score
Maybe we’re all wrong
And life is simple after all.And maybe when we die
We blend in with the trees
Maybe heaven waits to meet.
Maybe when we die
The world as what we know comes to its end.
No great transcend.
Maybe we should ask
The questions that will count.
Like, did we love?
Did we live?
Did we trust what we believed?Because maybe we’re all wasting time
Chasing all those fancy cars
Live and be just who you are.
And maybe don’t be so let down
Kick harder
So that you don’t drown.
Maybe we’re all meant to try
So that there’s reason when we die.So maybe we’re right.
And maybe we’re wrong.
Until we know, we’ll never know.
But for now lets move along.
